UPDATE: Over 8,000 people have been killed by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday, April 25. In unthinkable news a second quake hit on May 12.

The Compassion Project's friend Lama Pema was able to fly into Tsum to witness the damage after the first quake. He reports that 90% of the buildings are unlivable and people are sleeping in tents and under tarps. They need water, shelter, and long-term help to rebuild. Please donate to our project; we are working with our friends on the ground to send help to this remote Himalayan valley. Tsum needs our help.

Here are Lama Pema's most recent photos:

Nepal Earthquake: Terrible destruction at Epicentre

NEPAL EARTHQUAKE

This BBC map shows the epicentre of the first earthquake. Tsum is the region just north, indicated by the arrow.

(Please note the original map does not include Tsum).

Thank you!

Our fundraiser brought in over $3,500 for Tsum. Owner Leala Enflield donated musicians, space, and classes and we joined together to remember Nepal while helping Tsum rebuild.

We are deeply grateful.
